Unlimited Makes History about Poverty

Students from Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti in Christchurch ran a rally in the Square and held a forum about poverty.

Students got passers by to sign postcards to politicians and messages on white bands as part of the international campaign to Make Poverty History

After the rally in the square, there was a forum at Unlimited with a number of speakers talking about poverty.

Michalia from Trade Aid taked about fair trade and child labour, Jane from Earth Sea Sky talked about the reality of owning a small business in Aotearoa, and Eva ran a workshop about poverty - its causes and ideas for combating it. Dan gave us a wonderful analysis of the complex causes of poverty!

The day was really interesting and inspirational. It shows what a group of people can do when they work together - yay!
