The Asia-Pacific region has been in the boxing ring over the past fortnight, with blow after blow having landed on communities from Indonesia and Samoa to the Philippines, Vietnam and India. More than a thousand people have died, and millions of families have been affected.
While we are unable to pinpoint any particular weather event and say “That is due to climate change”, most studies point in one direction: that floods, typhous and cyclones will be more intense and more frequent, seasons more unpredictable and droughts longer.
