Calling all young poverty activists in the Wellington area!
Don’t miss out on a chance to attend a free workshop, run by Will and Jennie from the Just Focus team in partnership with CID and UNICEF.
For the fourth year in a row, millions of people around the world will Stand Up and Take Action to show their support for the fight against poverty and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This year, ‘Stand Up, Take Action’ events will take place on 16-18 October 2009. Young people from all around NZ will be running exciting events. Find out more here.
‘Stand Up Champions’ is a fun, interactive workshop for young people aged 13-18yrs, and it’s happening next weekend! (October 3rd). It will teach you all you need to know about the MDGs using fun activities and guest speakers. It will also give you all of the skills and ideas you need to make your event a huge success, including how to use the Media to promote your cause, and recognising team strengths by finding your ‘activist profile’!
Just Focus co-ordinators Will Watterson and Jennie O’Donovan will be facilitating, along with members of Council for International Development (CID). There are still some spaces left so be in quick!
Please RSVP to campaigns@cid.org.nz so that we can reserve you a spot, or if you’d like any further info.
