INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CLIMATE ACTION
This is an invitation to help build a movement–to take one day and use it to stop the climate crisis. On October 24, 350.org will stand together as one planet and call for a fair global climate treaty. With a call to action, they make it clear: the world needs an international plan that meets the latest science and will get us back to safety.
At 350.org you can see that actions that are already registered to happen around the world and either join with a local action or register your own. When we last looked there were 19 registered in New Zealand!
Also on the website are slide shows of some visually inspiring actions which have already taken place; a page of creative suggestions such as baking biscuits at 350° (fahrenheit); and pages for groups of people such as youth, faith or Islanders.

Small efforts often lead to more efforts and sometimes greater efforts. And pretty soon, each of us is a part of the solution in our own way. And best of all, most of the time it’s fun.
In the course of planning this climate action I have experienced the power of taking action – like a pebble falling in water, the ripples never stop reaching out.
