POLE TO POLE YOUTH CHALLENGE

The Pole to Pole Leadership Institute was set up to inspire the youth of today to stand up and be leaders within their communities whilst addressing the critical issues of our time, such as poverty, AIDS, Fair Trade, and critical wildlife management.

FAIR TRADE CHOC CAMPAIGN UPDATE

In April 2006, Just Focus members took part in Oxfam and FTAANZ’s “chocolate kisses” campaign to raise awareness about FT issues.

ETHICAL BUSINESS - AN IMPOSSIBLE DREAM?

Money and morals. It appears that, in a capitalist society, you have to sacrifice one for the other. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Or coffee for that matter.

NZ TRYING TO FORCE GE ON THE WORLD?

New Zealand nearly became the only country of the 132 nations who are party to the Cartagena Protocol to block an agreement on labeling GE organisms traded between nations.

WORLD FORUM ON JUSTICE, RELIGION & CONFLICT RESOLUTION

The World Forum will provide a gathering of national and international leaders of all ages, who will explore the intersection where diverse peoples and professions have committed to “increasing tolerance, restoring justice and collapsing economic disparity”.

MEET THE JF CREW OFF TO THE PACIFIC YOUTH FESTIVAL

8 members of Just Focus are heading over to Tahiti in July to participate in the Pacific Youth Festival. It is the first festival of its kind and aim to give Pacific youth the chance to have their voice heard and create their own youth charter - something which was severely lacking in the World Youth Festival of which this is an offshoot.
